What does Wii need saving from exactly? It not just surpassed the Gamecube, but looks like it will end up outselling it by 500%-600%. For over two years, the demand was so high for the Wii that they could not keep them on store shelves for even minutes - this is a first in the elevctronics industry; even Apple could only manage a few months like that.

Just on the horizon: Nintendo will probably be publishing Dragon Quest X, The Last Story, and Xenoblade; there is also the Wii Vitality sensor which will replace the BMI standard in favour of a more accurate measurement of fitness in Wii Fit; and there is also Nintendo's crown jewel, The Legend of Zelda. There is also a new Kirby title, and will probably be several more titles announced for this year that no one has yet heard of.

Also, why is the focus so much on Nintendo and not the two losing consoles? The way certain journalists talk, it is as though the Wii is less successful than the Gamecube, and the other two consoles are more successful than the PS2.

It's the illusiong they, and third parties, have refused to give up for the last four years.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
