Oh man I just had a super lucky find. I was holing up for the night and I was just bored and decided to dig a little mine. And what should I find but a mob den, practically all by itself (it had a door to a little teeny cave smaller than the mob den itself).
It was a skeleton spawner, but the little guy in the spawner is a pig! How odd.* Moreover, there were spiders in there. So they probably started out as spider jockeys, and then when they started freaking out when they saw me they probably shot each other and got dismounted.
Oh, I see in the wiki that is a multiplayer bug.
