I've been wondering the same thing myself, if ps3 is able to compete with the next xbox and nintendo system processing power wise I see no reason for them to release a new console, maybe a ps3 with a faster blu ray drive but thats about it

or crossfire two ps3's to make a ps6. boom! skipping 2 gens. all kidding aside, after playing the killzone 3 mp demo today i am really begining to think the ps3's power is limitless. I cant belive how great that game looks. probably one of the best looking game out. I really think its on par with metro 2033 pc. just needs that sweet smoke effect in the metro and the foggy goggles. just give me keyboard and mouse support for all the fps games and i will go back to ps3 being my leading game plat of choice.

Keyboard and mouse support are up to the devs of the game and thats just stupid putting 2 ps3s together, though if ps3 really can compete the whole next gen Sony would have a huge advantage if they keep the ps3 though I doubt they will, people just tend to do whats expected though it does depend on what the specs for the other two consoles will be

Polyphony put two PS3s together and ran an early GT5 build in a 4k resolution at a perfect 60fps with full raytracing. That was stunning.
