“It’s quite different than developing for the DS and the DSi,” he said. “Developers like us that have more of a console experience on GameCube and on Wii are going to be able to take advantage of the 3D better and they’re going to be able to do a little bit more with the hardware than people who are coming at it from the straight DS angle and used to doing more 2D, or very limited 3D, kinds of things… We can be a shining star on this.”
And THAT would be Sonys biggest fear right now, that only PS3 developers can afford, or understand, the tech of a PSP2. Im not saying power is bad, but i am saying its going to push alot of companies into choosing Wii/PS2/3DS dev kits, or the latter.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
