So to clarify then they shipped 6.3m PS3's right? VGC has the period at almost 6.6m PS3's sold. Which means we should see it adjusted down by 300k correct?

lol, there is still about 1.6 million PS3 sitting at retail according to Vgchartz. Sony shipped 6.3 plus the previous stock that was already there. In fact we could be undertracting the PS3 by a good 500k.

Ah i didn't see the 1.6m thing!
Well we know for a fact VGC has it at 6.6m for the 3 months. Where as Sony has it at 6.3m. So either way it is over-tracked by a 300k, that number can't be changed or spun. Because it would mean 300k consoles that were not even made were sold, they didn't excist!
But yeah if there are 1.6m PS3's on shelves that is quite laughable. That is like almost 33% of what Sony just said they shipped for the quarter!
I am sure the guys will adjust it down soon enough. If not then just makes the site look a bit pointless if your using company results for 2 of the 3's numbers but not the other one. Should all be judged by the same rules in my opinion.

Ship per quater and sold are two different thing. All consoles sold more last quater than they shipped. They usually have left over stock from the previous quater to work with as the DEC quater is biggest of them all.

Yes i get that. But my point was if your going to have say Microsofts figures based on what Microsoft say in their quarter statements then shouldn't you do the same for the others? Weren't the recent 360 adjustments down to the fact VGC had it a lot higher then what MS said they shipped? If that makes sense.
