Judaism did not...when the Kingdoms of Israel and Judiah fell to the Assyrians it's religion survived.

it survived defeat when every other religion at that time was destroyed and left devoid of believers.  It wasn't even put in a "danger" status.

Essentially it survived in a situation where no other religion has surivived, and no other religion has survived since... in an era where such a thing was considered inconceivable.

Unpopular = not popular with an individual or group of people; lacking general approaval or acceptance.

Something can be popular, yet outdated (like marriage rituals, gender roles), andsomething can be unpopular, yet up-to-date (like how an edgy dramedy is less likely to become as popular as a traditional sitcom).

"Outdated" and "unpopular" are certainly not synonymous.

2. You may be right about Judaism, but not about Christianity. Christianity did spread with force, and the main reason why it hasn't disappeared is because states where Christianity is the majority are also the strongest (and ironically secularism and religious freedom will probably help it live on in these countries).

As for Judaism, it's uniqueness probably consists of the connection between Judaism, the religion, and the Jewish ethnic identity. You can't be a Jew (the ethnicity) without being a Jew (as in someone who subscribes to Judaism). This is unique to them, and a reason why their religion has lived on. In the case of Judaism you can't even convert to the religion without becoming part of the Jewish people.

However we were talking about Christianity, not Judaism, and I don't know why you bought it up.
