I agree with Trestres, if nowhere else, Japan will prompt them to move ahead, much like if Japan were out of the picture, they could have stuck around with the DS comfortably for some time everywhere else
I too would call for a release 1 year after 3DS. Dragon Quest X, if it arrives in time, will keep Wii alive through its last year in Japan, but not too much longer
