As Zlejedi points out this is going to come down to how big of a lead PS3 can build up prior to the holidays. I think it will have no trouble getting a 200k lead. We're only 4 weeks into the year and the gap is already 30k in PS3's favor and that's with week 1 being a tie and week 4 having a major Wii game release and PS3 not having any major releases or bundles yet for the year. If PS3 and Wii both cut price at the same time than I can see PS3 building up over a 400k or even 500k lead. If DQX is a holiday release I don't think even that will be enough to put the Wii on top if the gap is that big. |
...And it looks like both Sony and Nintendo are perfectly fine with their respective strategies about how their sales go through the year, so the difference could likely be small again, couldn't it?
