1. It still didn't sell well, and you gave no other qualifier in your question, so it's answered.
2. The mainstream is who Nintendo is selling this to, NOT you, or other gamers like you. So your personal feelings are not a counter to my point.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
