The strangest thing happened though. Anyone else use gamefaqs.com? Well, it's pretty much a U.S. gaming site and the ps3 was voted console of the year 2010. looking at the U.S. sales chart, I'm still trying to figure out how that happened.

Gamefaqs is extremely popular among JRPG players, because that's the genre you need to look up stuff for the most. The genre is most prevelant on PlayStation systems, followed by Nintendo systems, therefore a vast majority of gamefaqs.com visitors will favor those systems and not an Xbox. That's why the polls usually lean towards Sony and Nintendo. Not just regarding consoles themselves, but character battles and the like as well.

EDIT: Especially Final Fantasy and The Legend of Zelda are popular. The PS3 got a mainline Final Fantasy game in 2010, so it winning the poll shouldn't be surprising at all.

Hmm, you got a point there. I thought such a thing was moot though because most  home console JRPGs this gen are on 360 not the ps3 and even FFXIII is on 360 as well...oh well.
