Still think that after seeing LBP2 sales(OK, not great), that it just shows that the PS3 still doesn't have a system defining game or games that make people(other than gaming nuts-not meant to be a bad thing) buy their system. I have or have had almost every gaming console for the last 30 years or so. And every time i got one, it was due to some particular game or group of games. I do have the PS3(by the way, it's the best bluray player that i have) and buy very few games for it. I do usually wait til they are $30 or less. But for the 360, i seem to buy more games right at release. As usual, i will throw out my disclaimer that i am of course only one person - so therefore do NOT represent a large sampling. But, am representative of a large group of people in their late 30s to mid 40s who have a batch of kids and multiple game systems. My group is mostly the Lemming group that i talk about alot. They like to buy whatever the general media or what they hear about at work. They do NOT do lots of research on gaming systems, as if you don't get gaming at this age, you never will. So they just follow the crowd...........

And thats exactly whats so great and what PlayStation has always been about. There is not any defining game for the PS3, there are just so many. Not the 360 nor the Wii can match the PS3 exclusives, there is just so many variety.
360 is defined by shooters, Halo and Gears comes to mind, Wii is defined by casual games.
But PS3? There is Uncharted, GT, Ratchet&Clank, LBP, Resistance, GoW. Only in the racing genre are 3 different PS3 exclusives: GT5, Motorstorm, Modnation Racers. Variety is the key word. Look back at the PS1 and PS2, there is no defining game.
You buying every game on the 360 doesn't mean anything, you just buy multiplatform games. 360 is your preferred console. You can buy the same game on PS3 too.

2 things:
1. Never said that i buy multiplatform games. I said that i have more interest in getting the 360 titles at release Vs waiting til later like i do on the PS3 titles.
2. Can't argue that the PS3 has a lot more AAA titles.
I guess my hope has always been that the PS3 needed a monster hit to give the system a higher presence in the market. Like i said in the first post, i think that the PS3 is outside the mainstream thoughts for some reason. The Wii owns that area for now and is starting to lose it. Will the PS3 replace it or the 360? People like to have a specific reason to buy game systems. That's all i am saying.
