Eh that's going a bit far.. It's like saying the Wii now appeals to FPS gamers because it has Goldeneye, Reflex, and Black Ops. I don't know about you, but I sure don't know any soccer moms or grandpas who bought a $300-$400 Xbox 360, and certainly not just for games like Kinect Adventures and Dance Central.. It doesn't seem like Kinect helped lift Xbox 360 hardware sales this holiday anyway, especially after the adjustment of - a million plus. I think the slim model, Halo, Black Ops, and the natural holiday boost were more the reason for the surge. Yes Kinect sold a lot during the holiday but I think a large chunk of those sales were current 360 owners. Anyway, the gap will maintain roughly the same, with the PS3 possibly inching a bit closer as a result of its Japan advantage. Kinect may be helping the 360 for a bit, but only seems to be in the US, and it won't last even there if the Kinect games don't get any better. |
Well, seeing as how I actually work at a retail store that sells kinect. I can tell you right now that A LOT of soccer moms and grandpas did exactly that.
