I haven't been into portable gaming since the original gameboy advance. That'll change probably around may 2012.
3DS fits my situation better.
- HW and SW will be cheaper.
- I HATE TROPHIES(to be more general I hate gamerscores), so the talk of ninty's achievement--->earning some kind of reward definitely appeals to me. I would love a subtle achievement system like steam, but that is in no way a deal breaker.
- 3DS will have backwards compatibility for DS games. That is a large library of games I have not played. Hoo rah
- Right now, 3DS has games I want such as bomberman, RE mercenaries, Splinter cell(chaos theory port or not), kid icarus, and a few others.
- If I wanted to play Sony's games I would buy a PS3. Also, I still have Monster Hunter Tri, so the portable version I'm indifferent to.
- I HATE FINGER TOUCH SCREEN CONTROLS!!!!
- 3DS will be more portable and have more portable games.
- The ladies will be wowed by the 3D
- Third Party Nintendo= Awesome
- Next gen I could very well be a Portable/PC gamer. Why would I play an FPS on a portable system while I have steam? To that extent, 3DS also looks to have a mean fighting line-up, a genre not great on the PC.
- 3DS's online appeals to me.
So yeah, I want the 3DS ;)
Hopefully Ninty Sony can kick Apple's arse.
