I think the PS2 had a staged launch, therefore the comparison is not the most correct one. In general though, I agree.


Even though the PS2 had a staggered launch, I think it's a fair comparison. If the PS2 would have had a global launch they still wouldn't have sold more units, because Sony had problems to manufacture the system for the most part of the console's first year.

The PS supply constraint? Sounds reasonable. I guess thats also why they were so antsy about having sufficient supply last year.
