Show a little love for Cursed Mountain.

Like Silent Hill.  I am a big fan of 2 because of ...well...it's Silent Hill.  I bought Shattered Memories for the Wii and really appreciated the fact that I could take my time with it, with the exceptions of the nightmare sequences.  The slower pace makes these games more enjoyable to me.  I am also playing Resident Evil 5.  I have trouble getting into this game because you are always shooting hordes of these guys.  Everything is fast paced.  Still enjoyable, but less than Silent Hill.

Cursed Mountain doesn't scare me of give me an adrenaline shot everytime I play it, but I am drawn into it.  So, for me, it is a very good game.  That's all. 

 

 

I need a new Horror game and prefer them to be more Horror and Puzzle oriented instead of Action like as in RE4 and RE5...I like Horror games like the first 3 Resident Evil's.

I plan to buy a Wii horror game sometime before the end of the summer at the very latest so for future reference...

Silent Hill Shattered Memories or Cursed Mountain? Which game is the better Puzzle-Horror game?

I enjoyed Silent Hill Shattered Memories more because of the psychological angle of the game and because I am a huge fan of Silent Hill.  But Cursed Mountain really surprised me.  I am on my second playthrough on both games and, if you have the money, I suggest both.  And by the way, you can find them pretty cheap nowadays.

As far as the puzzles go, again, Silent Hill has the upper hand.  In cursed mountain, the puzzles are more oriented toward defeating certain enemies to open up new areas.  In Shattered Memories, you have some more classic puzzles for codes opening locked doors and so forth.  Some of them are pretty easy, but others give a good challenge.

The replay value  for both games:  Silent Hill offers different areas and endings (I think) depending on some of the answers you give the psychiatrist.  Cursed Mountain is the same but I just love the atmosphere too much to let this bother me.
