Just like the people with modded 360s put them online, and not just that, they wanted to play a game that wasn't even out (leaked weeks before), of course it was easy for MS to do a megabanhammer on them XD

Yeah but the people taking JTAG consoles online are often doing so to make money.  They setup Cod lobbies then hack so it gives out silly amounts of XP so the players in the game prestige in one game.  Obviously they arrange the time with players to join the game and take money up front.  The console will get banned a few hours down the line but then they just flash a new Keyvault (console ID)  into the console and they're able to go online yet again. 

Ultimately a banned JTAG box doesn't mean the end of that 360 being able to connect to Live like a genuine retail 360.  Full credit to MS though for still consistantly making it hard for the hackers to go about their business on Live.
