Panasonic. Did alot of research before i bought my TV and last year's top of the range Panasonic (VT range) was rated the best TV of the year by a good number of publications that I came across.
Reasons: best blacks, excellent colours, best for motion, best 2D picture, best 3D picture, relatively low latency(good for gaming)
If you are looking for negatives, there is some truth to the fact that Plasmas are more suited to darker rooms, but the newest models are more than bright enough for most rooms and of course they tend to use more power the LCD/LEDs. While you can get temporary image rentention (only noticeable when you turn off the TV), burn in really isn't much of an issue with newer plasmas, having said that it wouldn't be using one as a computer monitor. Also while the TV looks quite good, it's nowhere near as sexy as the Samsung and Sony LEDs.
Overall though I would have no hesitation recommending a Panasonic plasma, they really are very good.
