well other than Epic their main competition there is Unigine that looks promising but like Cryengine 3 hasn't seen a full game yet though there are several coming soon. There is Valve's Source engine but that is a bit dated now and Source 2.0 is still TBA and will probably launch with Half-Life 3, still it's highly scailable and can still look good. There is id Tech 5 but it's mega texture tech focus may push it into a small niche, that and the fact the game has to be published by Bethesda for a dev to use it. There is Capcom's NT framework but like id 5 and Bethesda is limited to capcom games. Oh and SONY's PhyreEngine but that is only PSP, PS3 and PC and Ubisoft has a few engines that they use for their games.
oh there is also the Vision and Unity engines
So yea they are the other major cross platform game engines that are competing with Cryengine 3 excluding bespoke engines that are specialised for single games or platforms.
