Yeah I could use a price cut too, that the Christmas deals this year might just push me to get a PS3, although I was thinking about picking up the older 80GB model or 40GB model, since they're discontinued can be obtained dirt cheap!

I personally wish I got the slim, mainly because I like the way it looks moreso than the phat, but that difference is negligible.

Well I personally find Phat to be much better looking than Slim! The only hassle I have with the phat is the HD space. Especially with the dreadful rumours of extremely long loading times unless the games are installed onto HD, in some cases installation being compulsory. I really don't like the colour of Slim and the case just looks so cheap in comparison with the phat's glossy finish.

Once you get one, you will see how dusty it gets, even if you use it everyday. Also, it is easy to leave smudges. You can upgrade your hard drive though(at least that is what some people claimed).


Chyeah, all prettier things require upkeep :p, I dust every week anyway, so doesn't affect me much, it's the hard drive that will be a real bitch to me imho.

The biggest minus of the fat is that the dust shows up, and its almost impossible to keep it super clean without a single dirt showing up. Plus they are supposed to be a bit more unreliable than slims.

Not sure how true it is though, I have a 2.5 year old 40 GB phat upgraded to 500 GB and it runs like its new. 

I would advise you to get a slim instead when the price drops, that's much more safer and it looks way more cooler and it didn't even have the apocalyps3.
