Just wanted to point out that downloading paid content for free from the provider itself isn't new; in 2008 'hackers' figured out how to download any software off the appstore for free with a jailbroken iPhone. This functionality remains to this day.
I don't see the big deal. WiiWare/VC/Steam/XBLA/AppStore games are available for free if you know where to look. Sony may now experience what all their competitors have for years already.
