Did YOU read what I said? In a "good" lava cave, you can get 200 obsidian almost as easily as you can get 20. Basic caution will keep you safe when mining a lava lake.
Like I said, if you're exploring a natural cave, the hardest part of mining obsidian is having a diamond pick in the first place.
