Does anyone know if New Zealand data is charted on this site? If so, under what category does it come under? I suspect that it may be included with the Australian numbers or perhaps it comes under the 'other' category. Out of curiosity, what countries make up the 'other' category anyway? That market appears to be larger than Australia's, so there must be a few non European PAL markets out there (Asia? South America? Africa perhaps?).
I'm a longtime Nintendo supporter by the way, living in what is fast becoming the last bastion of Sony on the planet (Esp when I look at Spanish and Italian data from last week
). All three playstation consoles DOMINATE the opposition in NZ. Even the monster that is the Nintendo DS gets no love in this country, with sales far below that of the Playstation family and even both Xboxes. Wii is invisible here. The rental outlets in my town have given up on Wii and no longer buy new Wii games because of the lack of support. The five games they do are relegated to a small shelf at the very bottom alongside old PS2 games
. I am forced to make do with an online rental service to satisfy my Wii urges.
I just wish my country would wake up and move out of the previous generation. The top games of Xmas were all PS2 games - High School Musical, Singstar, BUZZ the quiz game etc. So clearly we are becoming a casual market, but yet we continue to neglect Wii and DS, the two most casual machines out there. Go figure
. Given NZ's proximity and similarity with Australia, a market that has embraced Nintendo, NZ's case is quite remarkable.
