That's with everything maxed out, though. You get 8 hours by turning the 3D off. You can also turn off Wifi or play on lower brightness settings. You don't play your PSP on highest brightness either, do you? You wouldn't get 6 hours of playtime out of a single charge in that case. According to Wikipedia the PSP battery lasts "less than 3 hours" with max settings. (Sorry I couldn't find a better source right now).

Somehow people always overestimate battery life of their handhelds. My DSi lasts 3 hours with maximum brightness. An iPhone lasts like 2-3 hours for games. But I rarely see anyone giving out such numbers
