Have you actually done a online stock check with the stores website like Best Buy?  You can search all the local stores.  It's kind of cool.  In the San Francisco bay area's 20 something Best Buys.  250gb Kinect bundle is sold out. 6 stores have the 4gb bundle.  4 walmarts have xbox's in stock. 

Based on a little bit of research one could conclude that Xbox Kinect in NA is pretty close to sold out.  It's Crazy how well it's still selling out at retail.
