The idea is that you have your game on any platform you wish. When you've bought the game, it's yours, no matter the platform. With Steam, Valve have done that with the PS3 version of Portal 2, and at the same time allow friends to play together across platforms. If my best option for playing Portal 2 is my PS3 and theirs is their PC, then we can still play together. I'm loving Valve's approach personally!

I love Valve's attitude here. You're not buying a version of the game, you're buying a universal copy of the game and you can play it whereever you like. That's how it ought to be!
