I wouldn't compare a console to a peripheral if Microsoft themselves didn't consider Kinect an independant platform. Many websites, analysts and companies are considering Kinect a platform launch. So with Kinect being considered a platform launch such as sites saying that Kinect is the fastest selling console hardware to date its only logical to compare the 3DS to it. If Microsoft and most media compare Kinects success to Wii , 360, PS3 etc...etc... it only makes sense to compare 3DS to it. Hopefully Nintendo will pump out 4-mill a month and kick Microsoft's butt. If not I must admit its not a fare fight considering Kinect only costs 150$ and all pre-existing 360 owners don't need to spend any more then that to enjoy it. |
Microsoft didn't consider the Wii as serious competition 4 years ago and look how the mighty has fallen bringing a motion camera thingy.
It is a perypheral, thats no question about it. It doesn't work by itself. That's the same talk about considering Balance Board a platform. There's a variety of games that use it and some have exclsuive content for it, yet it is a perypheral.
