I wouldn't really call CoM a spinoff on the same level as 358/2 Days or Recoded...the game introduces Org XIII for the first time as well as sets up KH2.

While it's more directly related story wise, it was still pretty different (genre divergent even), it was outsourced, and it got a "Re"mix rather than a "Final Mix".  All that to me says spinoff.
