Why doesn't Nintendo just re-invent the Wii like they did with the DS?

This is what I was thinking.  The Wii is still selling well even though the competition has had a redesign for their consoles and introduced their own motion controls.  At this moment there is no need for a redesign or re-invention.  I think the next step would be to come out with a new console.
