Wasn't this one always supposed to be? That's why it isn't a mainline Final Fantasy but "Versus".

Can't recall having read anywhere that it would be an action title to be honest. 3rd person action games are probably my least favourite genre this generation. Oh well, I'll just enjoy The Witcher 2 instead!

Between Bioware becoming an action game developer and Square Enix losing their shit, the RPG scene is quickly turning into something I don't like, its starting to go from all time favourite genre to unintersting casual garbage.

I was always under the impression it was going to be an action RPG rather than a pure JRPG. Not long after its announcement I read that the devs were looking to make the battles like the action scenes in Advent Children, but in real-time. I suppose a lot of RPGs are seemingly non-traditional these days. Witcher 2 should be awesome though.
