Wii:
Pro - Top selling console in December. Again. With no new incentive to push sales. Still impresses.
Con - Down quite significantly from the same time last year. Definitely in decline.
360:
Pro - Biggest single month ever. Significant increase over last year. Shortages means it could've sold even more. For a console in its 6th holiday that should be declining, its beyond impressive. Kinect in effect.
Con - Shortages limited sales potential and left money on the table. Increase over November not as much as anticipated.
PS3:
Pro - Smaller YoY decline than the Wii.
Con - A decline is still never good. Biggest PS3 game ever (GT5) and technologically impressive peripheral (Move) did not increase sales. Still a distant 3rd.
Software Analysis
None. Sorry, new NPD without numbers makes analysis uselessly speculative IMO.
