The principle of achievements is the same, no matter if one platform has a better achievement system or features.
Is it the thing that'll motivate you to play a game? Cool. Me? No.
I might not own a 360 or PS3 console, but I'm familiar with them as I have friends who do have them and we play together whenever possible.
