You will get sucked into that fee if you get sucked in the game's economy as it is usually the one part of an MMO that keeps it going so strongly.

This is how it was with D2 and GW.

For years, and in-fact as i'm writing this i'm on an MMO. Playing Final Fantasy XI about to kill Sippoy and Kutharie.

I have bought every expansion for FFXI for 2 systems and I have spent tons on the subs over the years. $12.95 a month isn't that big deal to me. It's better than paying 65 dollars for a 7 hour game.

More power to you. If you don't mind paying for it I am not going to argue against it, I just feel it is not worth it.

Also doesn't FFXI allow for a yearly sub at a discount rate? I am pretty sure DCU Online allows that for the PC version.
