Well considering the device isn't even out yet and the video promoting it uses an emulator for playing illegal roms I assume. I am upset the PSP launched with  GameBoy/SNES/NES/N64 emulators and all my friends rushed out to purchase the PSP to play illegally downloaded roms and movies.

It would appear this new phone's biggest feature is to run illegal rom's using the PS controllers. I don't like it one bit and if software begins coming out for this device it will probubly face a similiar fate to the PSP. People want free games they don't care that their theft hurts the industry and now they have yet another device to play those illegal games on.

I remember at launch my friend bragging about how he had all the Mario games on his PSP and loved playing them. He bought maybe one legit PSP game. Sony needs to nip this in the butt and make sure they update the hardware regularily to brick any phone using such emulators. But seeing as the device isn't even out yet and its already playing roms through and emulator, I doubt thats the case.

Of course the emulator was running games for the PS1, the emulator better not be availible at launch and Sony better make sure it can't run emulators!

Well, since it has Android running on it, it will be able to run emulators.  Just curious, how do you feel about Atari and Sega roms?  Just asking cause you only seemed concerned about it playing Nintendo games.

He seemed more concerned about software sales not just Nintendo games.

Even if Xplay face the same psp's fate, good hardware numbers and terrible software sales, sony will be happy for increasing their share in the smartphones market.

That last point is key, I still think this is more of a push for the smartphone market rather than the hardcore gamer market. And SE's android push has resulted in a decrease in sales, but some profits that that is Sony Ericsson's main priority at the moment
