I'm wondering if this is the extent of the system's social features, similar to the DS which always had local chat, this would have a local achievements system and a local gamertag to help keep track of who you pass in real life (now it would be odd to have that and not have it extend online, but it would be totally Nintendo)

Everybody has their Mii and a name for it that identifies who they are. And if it keeps track of the games you play and things you unlock I do not see how far this is from being a “achievement” sort of thing plus the walk tracker.

The Mii is you (Miiou?) which is your account name which has all the info of what you have played.  

No friend-codes guys!!! Or maybe if you want to play online but then you would have maybe the system code only but that is not such a bad thing. But I am sure your Miiou will be the only thing you need now
