Because the first time anyone faces him, they try to tackle him head to head. 

It's not only through a process of trial and error that you actually find that he's a bit of a pushover, if you know where and how to tackle him.

No, Flamelurker is not godly. Thankfully none of the bosses are Godly and I like that design choice. It satisfies me that the part to boss is ultra-hard but the boss is "normal".

I had the hardest time with those demons who become two or three after a while. Died about 25 times until I cheated by reading my guide on how to position myself.

EDIT: this is playing a character with ranged combat. I wouldnt even dare to think how hard it'd be with a sword-only guy to beat Flamelurker or Stormking.
