I've noticed that beginning this holiday, only YoY matters for PS3 now.  So I wouldn't be so down on it.

Sales don't matter much to me anyway, it's just interesting.

But PS3 in America is still doing good numbers, just not as good as the competition. I think it's ok considering that it's doing great numbers outside of America.
