That's not what this topic is about. The question posed in this thread is not if people (would) like an overarching achievement system, it's whether or not they could live without one, because calling it a "key thing" implies a necessity.

Will people enjoy playing 3DS games despite a lack of an overarching achievement system? The answer is most probably "yes".


I don't know, I would call achievements and trophies a key feature for the PS3 and 360 yet they could still strive without them.  Achievements merely enhance gameplay and make people play more so I still would call it a key feature.
