Why you think selling more copies of a hit game is something beyond considering is just silly.
It's selling more copies of a hit game. Your comment is basically the same bad logic that made developers neglect the Wii ("we sold a million copies of RE4 on the Wii. We can't have more of that").
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
