How does the Fallout 3 system work? I haven't played that game.

Fallout system was like this. When you entered a certain area enemies there would scale around your level and it would stay locked that way.

Some below your level, some above (so it wouldnt be too easy). But if it still was hard, all you had to do was leave, go to other areas, level up and come back.

The enemies would still be in the same level as before.

I missed Fallout 3, mostly at least. Seemed boring to me. But let's not get there. Was the scaling system really like that? Because that sounds like getting rid of half the problem but letting the other side completely intact. True, it does take away bandits in glass armor but on the other hand, it will be much less thrilling if you know for sure that every new area has something you can kill, or kill after a level or two. Close to your level anyway. Ah well, at least it's a step in the right direction.
