I think that Wii's continued success during the holidays proved that the general public buys what they "heard about". Kinect came too late to the holiday season to have a large amount of people communicate their want for it. 2011 holidays will determine what is what when grandma and grandpa know what kinect is. As far as the Wii failing at anything, i don't think so. They did what they set out to do. If you want the upgrade from what they have you buy the kinect. I am sure that Kinect's success will definitely push Nintendo to get going on Wii2 or WiiHD sooner rather than later. To me, the bigger joke is the Move. It is only a lateral move(no pun intended), just a copy of Wii tech. I think that it is good for gaming in general for every console to have the motion option, but not required.
