I dont think its out of the question to assume that MS was using hd dvd to at least confuse the market, perhaps at least long enough to get their downloadable movie sevice up and running for the mass consumer, not just xbla. With CES coming up i believe MS will shed some light on their 08 plans but i doubt they will reveal much, if any on unannounced games of 08. My question is what will ms do? - Will this fabled hd dvd xbox 360 be announced even though bd is the unofficial winner? Having Warner go Blu is bad for HD DVD, but unless Paramount or Universal jump ship, it's still a contest. Toshiba would release it and build it, but it is worth a try. Having Toshiba do it could raise Japan sales significantly. -will they add a blu ray add on to the 360? No, MS wants downloads, not BR. I would expect a 360 with a 300gb drive in it to record crap. -Will ms become much more aggressive in trying to get once thought ps3 exclusives to jump ship? There's no need to. The 360 has been hanging closely with the PS3 with a meh price cut only. And Sony is losing soooo much loot on each PS3 sold, and MS is just grinning. Why? All they have to do is drop the price $75 on every 360 to generate sales. After the holiday bump, the PS3 will end up behind the 360 (and the Wii) again. Mark my words on this. -Will ms buy another games studio/ exclusive game? I think if it were any game itd be resident evil 5. No. The biggest game for this generation, right now, is GTA IV. Though tons of folks hate it, tons of folks love it. MS paid $50M just for extra content. -Perhaps theyll do nothing and act as if this silly format war never happend? The format war isn't over yet until you see a Transformers BR movie. Then, expect a white flag.
P.s. Does ms profit from 360's being sold or are they still sold at a loss? Each one is sold for profit. Each PS3 sold has been sold at a loss.
