It was undoubtebly successful.
I haven't seen Spector commenting on it though.

Well since this site has yet to gain more respectibility, NPD numbers are usually used for these comments.

I'd love to hear from Spector about the sales of the game... The last thing I remember from him was saying he was "kinda jazzed" by the mixed reviews... and while I can understand where he's coming from as a creator, I hope Disney are more "jazzed" about the sales

Haha I think he was jazzed that some reviewers "got it" while others didn't, most artists like it when a select group understands their art, sometimes it's not meant for everyone especially those that just look at the surface, it also shows him who's pretty shallow about artistic games Adam Sessler was talking about Epic Mickey and how it was a breath of fresh air but even he admitted people wouldn't get it, he even thought it wouldn't sell that great like the 3D platformers of last gen, but it's selling really well now and could surpass even Spector's expectations.

I definitely agree with you on that. There is a certain "elitist pride" one can feel about one's work in such a case, and that is by no means a bad thing. I also think Spector appreciates the controversy and rethinking of what makes a game "fun" which has arisen from a lot of the negative feedback the title has gotten. Not so much the parts about the camera, but the discussion about choice (or lack thereof) and strong narrative vs. freedom and exploration.
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
