Funny you'd say that. Japan is certainly not the country where the series is most popular. So this comment is completely irrelevent.
As far as I know, fact is I prefer GT to Forza. So the fact is, GT is still better than Forza, as far as I'm concerned. GT5 is the king of console sim racing, something I never felt was the case for Forza when I played the games in that series, as great a time I had with them.
You should certainly check the Inside Sim Racing review part 1. The game isn't being reviewed as a mere game, or bitched about how long the wait was. It's compared to the best of the best available in the genre (which is on PC and doesn't include Forza). Those guys are doing this for a living. I trust their view much more that the ignorant car amateurs that serves as reviewers on the regular video games sites.
