Honestly, the whole ME decisions carrying over to ME2 is vastly over-rated in my opinion.

I played Mass Effect on X360, and then a year or so later on PC.

I then played Mass Effect 2 on PC without using any save files.

The decisions you made in Mass Effect make a negligible impact on Mass Effect 2. It's essentially the same story with the same outcomes regardless of the decisions you made in ME.

However, I think the decision you make at at the end of ME2 will have a large impact on ME3.

Anyway, ME is still my favourite of the series and it's one of those games that you need to play while you are still naive about the story to get the full experience.

This. This is the most accurate response from a person (like myself) whom has played Mass Effect various times on various consoles and played ME2 partially on 360/PC. The comic will suffice and the largest choices will most likely be made from the second to the third game. I've played my fill of part one and suggest to all who haven't played it to give it a try. The PS3 version of the game will be great, haters or no haters, it still exists and PS3 owners can join in the fun now.
