I think Tri's tracking is probably about right. What VGC's overtracking though is all 3 PSP releases in the west... in all 3 cases they have sales above what Capcom's reported shipping even. :/
As far as this news, I'm betting MHP3G is going to be a 3DS exclusive now and probably release in Japan holiday 2011. It'll probably get a similar Nintendo co-promotion/publishing deal overseas in 2012, and I'm guessing MHP3 on PSP is going to stay Japan only too given Capcom's silence on a localization and apparent western abandonment of PSP. Actually, it makes me wonder if other late term PSP games might only make their way west as 3DS ports (Valkyria Chronicles 3, Yakuza: Black Panther, MonHun Felyne Village, Last Ranker, etc)? Pretty much just Square Enix, NISA, Atlus USA and XSEED are even publishing on the platform next year it looks like... actually, a similar thing happened with Saturn and PS1 back in the late 1990s, a lot of great JP Saturn games only released in the west as later (and usually inferior) PS1 ports (Grandia, Thunderforce V, DarkStalkers 3, Lunar 1-2, Silhouette Mirage, DOA, X-Men Vs SF, etc, etc).
I do think MHP4 is probably still up for grabs but that depends on (A) how well MH on 3DS sells, (B) how much both Sony and Nintendo are willing to pay out in cash/incentives/support and (C) what home console MH4 lands on, for the conversion's base.
