These stories where people fought back and lived make good headlines, don't they? The stories where somebody got murdered for offering resistance kinda get ignored.
Don't fight back. You're reacting to somebody who has already planned the scenario out, already has you at a disadvantage, and already has a weapon trained on you. The best thing you can do is be the best damn witness you can be. Look for tatoos, scars, accents,or whatever you can to help police catch the offender. Otherwise, the only message you may be sending is the insciption on your tombstone: "He died trying to save his iPod."
edit: I just re-read the OP. "Remember 911"? WTF!?
