I see your point.
At least buying used/renting you're supporting a local store that employs people and helps the economy. Pirating doesn't help anyone except yourself.
I try to buy new as often as possible but sometimes they're out of new copies and used is the only option, so I'll buy used if I have to. I don't really ever rent anymore.
