Alright. I beat those stages in the cave world legitimately. Aside from the stupid "tap only, do not push hard" jumps, mine cart is quite masterable, but whoever designed that Sonic screaming bat seriously needs to have their head examined, as they have conceived something so abominable as should be effaced from the earth immediately

Then i tore through most of the Forest like it was my job, proving that the bat stage is a result of poor level design because it exhibits irrational difficulty progression.

I am not sure why any of the barrel rocket levels could be considered hard. Okay, the puzzle pieces and the Kong letters require good timing to collect, but just passing them? All you can do in those stages is moving vertically, that means you are playing on a single plane, a 1D game so to say.

I guess the reason why the bat gave you so much trouble is because it acts according to your actions and isn't the same everytime you play the stage, like all other barrel rocket and mine cart levels. You expected to get by with memorization, but it's actually about using the simple AI against itself.

The main problem was either hitting the ground on the dive under them, or hitting them on the rise back up after dodging under it

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
