| trashleg said: well apparently, its part of my national identity? i drink about 4 times a year, except summer 2009, when my slightly inebriated shenanigans were visible to all the vgc regulars. haaaaaa. am i ashamed? no. all my friends go out at least every weekend, get competely rat-arsed regularly and are proud of themselves for it. i dont like that. i dont like the taste of most alcohol, and i dont like being past the buzz stage. i dont like the thought of losing control so completely. i can sit with friends while they all drink, and be happy with my lemonade. you can try to convince people that they shouldnt be doing what they're doing, but just remember its personal choice ;) (you know what pisses me off? i worked in a bar and there is no law protecting me if i refuse to serve a pregnant lady alcohol. according to my manager, the company could be sued for discrimination. bullshit). anyway, im suffering no ill health due to the very occasional drink i have, but when i am in the mood for it and i have a drink in the right setting, its all good. (i never got into drinking when i was younger, not until i was 20. and there is a history of alcohol abuse in my family. but like i've said, im not exactly a big fan.) and i HATE wine. and beer. and whisky. edit: and most spirits. and alcopops. |
Whaaat?! Not even Scotch? But... but... your Scottish...
Thanks for completely destroying my sterotypical view of the Scots :P
