I remember reading this a while ago. Definitely worth the read. Despite never playing the game this article made me understand a lot about Metroid: Other M, and the issues everyone had with the game. That said, I wen't out and bought the game after reading this piece. I felt a sense of relief after finishing those last paragraphs, I was confused for a long time but now I know exactly what to expect when I play this game, and I believe I can still get enjoyment out of Metroid: Other M. Plus I have yet to miss out on a Metroid game, excluding Metroid for the NES which still has eluded me to this day.

It's such a shame though, if a little ironic. Metroid is set in space, a futuristic time, right? From a storytelling standpoint the possibilities are endless, yet it seems like the franchise is being pulled back by the traditional values of an old japanese man.

How technical is your game?
